NURS 751 - Epidemiology and Biostatistical Principles of Healthcare


This course introduces the learner to the foundational principles, concepts, and methods of epidemiology and their impact on global health and population health. Learners will apply complementary biostatistical principles of descriptive and analytic epidemiology, including research design, analysis, calculation, and interpretation of data. Existing datasets for analysis include measures of global health and population health. Current technologies are used to facilitate these skills.

An important focus in this course that is directly applicable to DNP practice change projects includes evaluation of the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions, effect size, statistical significance, and clinical significance of intervention research results.
