Advanced Placement Program (APP)

The Advanced Placement Program (APP) enables transfer students with the right combination of previous coursework to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree in five semesters. Approximately 40 students are selected each year for this highly competitive program. Accepted students complete the sophomore nursing curriculum (3 courses in 12 weeks during summer session) and continue to junior level in the Fall Semester.

To be eligible to apply for APP, a student must successfully complete the following prerequisite courses with a grade of ‘C’ or higher. Equivalent coursework will transfer to MCCN at the level indicated:

*Credit will not be granted for science courses completed at another institution more than five years prior to Mount Carmel admission.

Advanced Placement Program Curriculum Plan


Successful completion of all freshman level courses and all sophomore level non-nursing courses in the MCCN curriculum are prerequisites to this program.
