Mount Carmel College of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science of Nursing (BSN) Program on the campus of Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster, Ohio. This partnership is designed to help students realize their dreams of achieving exciting careers in nursing, while meeting the increasing community demand for baccalaureate prepared nurses.
As part of the Mount Carmel program, students take their freshman level general education coursework at the Ohio University-Lancaster (OU-L), followed by the traditional MCCN nursing curriculum from sophomore through senior year. The MCCN courses of nursing theory, nursing clinical, selected general education and science courses are taught by MCCN faculty at the Fairfield Medical Center campus.
Freshmen students attend orientation and register for classes at OU-L, and any financial aid is administered by that institution during the freshman year. OU-L grades and semester credits are posted to the student’s MCCN transcript. MCCN conducts another orientation toward the end of freshman year when administration of financial aid transfers to MCCN from sophomore year to the end of the student’s degree program.
Science Credit: Transfer credit will not be granted for science courses completed at another institution more than five years prior to Mount Carmel admission and enrollment.
